Benefit Art Party for Westchester Philharmonic Thursday 11/12
All visitors to New Rochelle’s Talk of The Sound are cordially invited this Thursday evening, November 12th to the benefit reception & party that teacher, painter, sculptor & musician David Tobey is hosting for the opening of his solo art show of paintings, prints & sculpture from 5 to 9 p.m. at BID Gallery 542, located at 542 Main Street in New Rochelle, NY. The benefit is for the Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra, where David has been a violinist since its founding in 1983. David is donating a full 50% of all proceeds from the sale of any of his art at the show to the orchestra.
The event will feature, in addition to more than 75 of David’s paintings, prints and sculptures, live musical entertainment and refreshments. There is no admission charge.
The show is being sponsored by the City of New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (hence the name “BID Gallery 542”) an organization working on projects to revitalize the city, one of which involves obtaining very affordable work spaces for artists and other creative people in the downtown area of the city. Ralph DiBart, director of the BID, will be at the reception to answer any questions about the program that anyone may have.
More on the show and about David can be seen on the BID’s web site at http://www.newrochelledowntown.com/articles/?article=136.
Please join us for what will be a very interesting musical & artistic event! If you need any more information, David can be contacted at by phone or email at the number & address below. Thanks very much.
