iPhone owners rejoice. There is now an Talk of the Sound iPhone App.
It has been weeks in the making but we just got word today that Apple approved our cool new app.
The app contains four main buttons and a “more” button. By default the main buttons are Featured Posts, All Posts, All Comments and NewRo Buzz. The “more’ button will reveal four additional buttons — Photos, Calendar, Videos, Tweets. If you click “more” and then “edit” you can drag and drop any of the 8 available buttons to create your own main tray of four buttons at the bottom of the main screen. We are working with AdMob, one of the world’s largest mobile advertising networks, to run ads on the app in order to keep it as a free app. We hope you will support Ad Mob and their advertisers.
Main Screen
- Featured Posts – articles promoted to the left rail of the home page.
- All Posts – all articles published to the site, listed under Last 10 Articles.
- All Comments – all comments published to the site, there is no comparable list on the web site.
- NR Buzz – the New Ro Buzz feed of any and all mentions of New Rochelle on the web.
More Screen
- Photos – images from the Talk of the Sound Flickr Account.
- Calendar – events listed in the Talk of the Sound Calendar.
- Videos – videos from the Talk of the Sound YouTube Channel.
- Tweets – tweets from the Talk of the Sound Twitter Account.
We are open to suggestions on how to improve the iPhone app. There are already two cosmetic fixes coming in an update — icons at the bottom will be unique and the header font (“Talk of the Sound”) will be reduced – so keep an eye out for that update.
