We do not typically have “open threads” but there was so much going on over the course of the day with the City Council that I am just going to throw open a comment thread and invite discussion without any particular topic other than your thoughts on the discussions about downtown parking and IDA transparency and putting video cameras on the Hutch exit/entrance ramps to deal with the burglary spree on the North End and other topics raised at today’s City Council meeting. Have at it.

At this moment the video has not been edited so that the agenda items are hyper-links but they will be. In the meantime, you will have to watch the video all the way through to get to that agenda item.
If you want to wait a bit they will edit the agenda so that each agenda item is a hyperlink to the relevant portion of the video tape. If you want to know exactly when that wil be done contact Kathy Gilwit at City Hall.
my question on agenda
thank you bob, excellent advice. will follow — quite a number of people in my complex are interested in this outcome as they say they have applications sitting in City Hall.

Reaction to Councilman St. Paul’s Downtown Parking Survey
I was quite disturbed by the reaction of some of the Council members to Councilman St. Paul’s informal survey of the parking available at night at the various parking areas in downtown. How can anyone judge objectively if they toss aside the truth? Several people from the downtown churches came to the Council meeting to object to charging for parking at night.
