Having never dealt with New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson privately, I know nothing of how he behaves with people out of the public eye but from what I see I would describe Bramson as “smarmy” — a man who speaks in vague platitudes, does not express his own opinion, smiles constantly but does not appear to exhibit genuine emotion, and who does his best to take both sides of any point before him while never making a public commitment to any one position.
So I am not sure what to make of this comment by former school board member Martin Sanchez, of the few Latinos elected to any sort of office in the history of New Rochelle.
[Noam] called me on the phone and went into a tirade, full of expletives…He used foul language and insulted me unlike anyone ever had. The point is that if you speak out and Noam doesn’t like it, he will try to stifle you, specially if you are an elected official…
Can this be true? Was this an exception or does our Mayor regularly engage in expletive-filled tirades?
