New Rochelle Republicans Choose Bilingual Hispanic Woman for City Judge Candidate
Calling Cynthia Lobo a “tireless worker” and the best qualified person for the New Rochelle City Court, RoseMary McLaughlin, Secretary of the New Rochelle Republican City Committee, nominated her for the City Judge position. This was followed by a seconding of the nomination by Mickey Boyle who emphasized that Lobo’s criminal law background surpasses other candidates skills. He added, this was the “type of individual we would want in this diverse city.” No other nominations were made and Ms. Lobo was selected. Her Democratic opponent is Susan Kettner.
After thanking the group, Lobo accepted the nomination saying she had spent 31 years in the practice of law. She has taught law at Georgetown and has experience in criminal and civil litigation. She has been a television commentator on CNN and CNBC and other networks.
Service has always been a part of her life. She has an extensive background in professional and community activities such as the Children’s Center for Learning and the New Rochelle Salvation Army. She has plans to do a lot of walking to campaign for this position. Acknowledging her nomination, Lobo said she hopes to serve as the “first bilingual Hispanic woman” in the New Rochelle City Court. Her professional experience includes working as a Public Defender in Wisconsin, and with a number of law firms in Washington, D.C. and New York. She was given the “Community Leader” Woman of Excellence award by the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
After the meeting, Dennis Starr, the Chairman of the Issues Committee of the Republican City Committee, said he had only met Ms. Lobo that evening but he was very impressed with her resume. She is an “incredibly experienced candidate for City Judge.” Doug Colety, the Republican City Committee Chairman, said Lobo is an extremely qualified candidate. “We’ve welcomed her into the Republican Party and are excited about her candidacy. We are looking forward to her victory.”

Can the Republicans get one candidate that is not from the Democratic roster.
These turncoats are not worth their new Republican oath to the Party.
Wasn’t she good enough to run on her own ticket, I think not.
Vote Sheila Marcotte June 22nd!
You have your chance on June 22nd to vote for a real Republican.
Get out and support Sheila Marcotte on June 22nd. Rob Astorino needs more support on the Westchester County Board of Legislature so I’m glad we have a strong candidate running this time around. Have you read lately what Ken Jenkins and Democratically controlled legislature are doing? It’s really a shame, but they’ve retained legal counsel to sue the county executive. What a waste of money and you can expect more of this with the election of Greg Varian.
We have the HIGHEST taxes in the nation, yet Varian doesn’t want to limit or shrink county government and supports more county involvement which is only going to lead to yet higher taxes with no end in sight.
