I would like to pay tribute to my mother, Mrs. Willene Murphy and my sister, Ms. Merilene Murphy who passed on February 2nd, 2007. My mother was one of the parents who fought long and hard for these changes to take place. My sister was one of the first to integrate the schools in New Rochelle and I followed her the next year by attending Davis Elementary School.
