Good Luck New Rochelle, my last post

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

To all of my friends, foes, supporters and people I have met and helped along the way. I would like to thank you for helping to mould me into the person I’ve become. This morning on WVOX a person took a shot at me. I have no problem with that, I am a big boy with broad shoulders and never claimed to be able to walk on water. Being the up front, in-your-face person I am, I called them and needless to say a very heated debate took place. During that exchange my residency, health and disability came into question with this person saying I should be investigated. My residency is a tactic used to cloud the issue or divert the debate away from the facts I present. My heath and disability is another story. After ending the conversation I realized that an honest debate based on issues and facts will never be a realistic possibility. While I have always said politics is all about power and money when we cross the line into ones health to the point of investigation then I must withdraw to protect myself and my family.

I cherish my days battling for the Armory and will continue to do what I can quietly. I have fully enjoyed participating on WVOX and on New Rochelle Talks.
I enjoyed every debate with Idoni, Strome, Bramson, O’Shaunessy and of course Mitch. They are formidable foes with some scruples. I have foiled documents that are public record and never sought or used private personal information to win a debate. New Rochelle is second only to Yonkers in the veracity of debate and if I had to do it over again I wouldn’t change much, certainly not my 52 plus years in New Rochelle. I’m sure there are people who are celebrating that someone has taken me out of the game but to be clear it was due to a close friend’s betrayal and a foe crossing the line to question my health.

I wish New Rochelle all the best and moving forward the debate will be more one sided. This may be a blessing in disguise in that I can devote more time to my family especially my granddaughter.

God bless!

  1. anthony galleta
Anthony Galletta is a warrior. We have had many disagreements and strongly debated issues and sometimes I was not as politic or decent as I should have been. But there is no taking away from the fact that this is a man who has devoted a great deal of time and energy and has passionately and intelligently defending what he believed in. I don’t know what or who went after him in the way that he described, but it is plain wrong. This is a good man and I respect him and I will see to it that we keep in touch. I have picked up a number of important insights into issues from Anthony. I wish him all the best and hope he continues on with his efforts. Agree or disagree with him, his work makes us all better simply because it makes us think.

I think we can all learn the need for civility, for cutting down on the personal insults, for accusing people of being something they may not be. We should be above this.

God Bless you and I hope any issues you have physically or emotionally will be eased by the respect and affection you will receive from many bloggers.

  2. Anthony Galletta an advocate for New Rochelle!
I suggest one can be an advocate for New Rochelle no matter where you reside. On the Armory issue which is between The New York State OGS and Citizens of New York I could make an argument as to why you have and should continue to have a dog in this fight.
Why should you move on frankly your intentions are for the good of NY and New Rochelle and certainly you are a proponent of clear thinking and a position that is a compromise not all or nothing. I suggest whomever has offened you or threatened you has not any right to send you packing. You do us all an injustice if you move on. I find you to be aware of what is going on in a very positive manner. I reside in New Rochelle pay a heafty amount of taxes and I am happy to have you as another set of eyes and ears as in order for us Citizens to afford to live here we can not afford to alienate those with truly good intentions. In the end this is about a City Administration that is out of control. It is about Politicians that deal dirty. It is about politicians that want to give away the store to developers with little of no renumeration. I say build Echo Bay I say leave the Armory standing and make it work. I say if you need to move the City Yard and someone needs the property they aught to be compensating the citizens for moving that Yard. And lastly I say thank you Anthony do not leave do not let anyone make you feel unwanted. The constitution protects all of our opinions, what it does not protect is politicans acting in a illegal manner to get what they desire.Fight on Anthony we need you.

    1. Thanks for the kind words
Thanks for the kind words but this is not about leaving or backing down, two things I would never do. It’s about priorities and although New Rochelle is very high on my list of priorities my family, home and health must come first.

      1. A word of support for Mr. Galletta
I want to say that I understand and appreciate your position regarding the unfortunate encounter you’ve described, Mr. Galletta, and I have every confidence that you will do what is best. I respect your intelligence and good judgement, and I know you will continue to bring positive, dynamic energy to whatever you choose to do in the future.

Sometimes disagreeable, unpleasant events lead to positive changes and unexpected growth….

The best of luck to you, always.
