Accident Lawyer news reports additional details on I-95 Crash:
Three vans were reportedly involved in a “minor accident” at Exit 16 of I-95, blocking the left traffic lane, at approximately 1:50 p.m. All three motorists were apparently standing outside their vehicles, likely trading insurance information, when a fourth vehicle joined the commotion. The unspecified vehicle apparently struck one van just before a dark-blue SUV somehow lodged itself between two white vans from the initial wreck. A sixth vehicle was also involved in the chain-reaction accident, damaging its side-view mirror on impact.
Joseph Russo, a 33-year-old Walden man involved in the initial crash, became pinned between two of the vehicles as he stood outside his van. He reportedly suffered a severe leg injury in the accident. Three others, including 31-year-old Angel Ortiz, of New Rochelle; 35-year-old Angelo Zaurdo, of Brooklyn; and 35-year-old Claude G. Vuley, of Washingtonville, suffered injuries as well. Ortiz was transported to Sound Shore Medical Center with a sprained wrist, while Zaurdo required treatment for his minor arm and leg injuries. Vuley suffered a broken pelvis and was rushed to the hospital as well. While delays extended all the way to the Bronx, crews cleared the scene of the collision by 5:30 p.m. It was undisclosed if any charges have been filed in connection with the six-vehicle crash.
