There was another isolated incident this morning, before dark, this time in the West End of New Rochelle. Police believe two or more individuals drove past a house near Union Avenue and 8th straight and fired two or three shots into a bay window in the living room towards the front of the house.
Police detectives and investigators from the New Rochelle Police Department were on the scene when Talk of the Sound arrived and could be heard warning two men who had recently rented the house that the shooters knew where they lived, drove slowly by — based on the spacing of the bullets in the window — and deliberately aimed at the windows with the intent of directing bullets into the house. The two men were advised by police to make arrangements with regard to their personal safety.
Elsewhere, New York State Police captured a man wanted by police after numerous 911 calls from bystanders witnessing a man savagely beating a woman on Main Street down by the Home Depot. The man was captured but the woman departed the scene without providing information or filing a report. A license plate recorded by a witness did not turn up any information as to the identify of the victim.
Drive-by, no way
A “Drive-by” shooting is impossible in New Rochelle because that would intimate gangs in New Rochelle and everyone knows New Rochelle is the 4th safest city so there can’t be any gangs. NOT!
