“Sick of Noam? Vote Parente” T-Shirts for Sale

Written By: Robert Cox

Talk of the Sound T-Shirt Shop

Sick of Noam - Vote Parente.png

The front reads “Sick of Noam?”

The back readers “VOTE PARENTE DISTRICT / 3 NEW ROCHELLE”

This T-shirt is not affiliated with the Peter Parente Campaign in any way. All proceeds go to me, Robert Cox. This is just a shameless attempt to exploit the race of the District 3 seat to make money to support Talk of the Sound.

  1. Ok…
You say Potatoes, I say Patatoes…Whatever.

Now, will you or won’t you address the issue I brought up?

Why would you try and support this site on the back of a popular political candidate and an unpopular mayor? It is a fair question Mr. Cox!
Why not design a nice t-shirt with your sites logo? Or better yet, have a fundraiser specifically for TOTS? There are some who would attend or donate. Maybe even me! 😉
Peter Parente should not be raising funds for YOUR site. I’m just asking….again…for the third time. I look forward to your response on this issue and this issue only if you please. Thanks…again.

  2. Hmmm….
Way to skirt the issue at hand. I suggested TOTS t-shirts and an editorial would be more appropriate. That’s obsessive? It was just my humble opinion.
If I was “obsessive”, I would of jumped all over you for your continued use of inaccurate “sources” in which you depend. Det. Buono can attest to that. The “retraction” you wrote was admirable, even though it was tucked into an unrelated story. Too bad you didn’t ask him first, directly, if he was related to Mr. Bongo as you harped on for about a year and a half; just to confirm your source. I also know of several other inaccuracies you have poblished but I’ll just let you hang yourself. There are many more retractions in your future.
I also mentioned to you Mr. Cox…if you don’t like what I write don’t respond. Your participation is not necessary. I’ve been civil and abided by your rules.
But I still pose the question. Why would you try and support this site on the back of a political candidate? It is a fair question. You have so many other ways you can find the support you need. I’m just asking.

    1. Just clarifying for new readers…
That your interest in this site stemmed from your defending a web site created by NRPD PACT officers featuring illegal gambling, porn and promoted a misogynistic attitude. That is what you seek to defend by your whining on this site.

You are just one of many that want this site to disappear because we expose to residents things you and your friends want made known.

While your professed concern for “journalism” is touching, I am not terribly interested in the views of anonymous coward whiners on what I can write or whether I can comment on my own site.

There is no issue you of you being civil or playing by what few rules we have which is why you are free to comment on this site. See the difference, I am not preventing you from airing your views just reminding readers of your track record posting here which has been driven by your unhappiness over our exposing a web site explicitly linked with NRPD and specific current and former PACT officers.

And this is the consistent pattern with you and people like you. Your supposed concerns about journalism are just a cover for your real desire — to see this site go away. How’s that working so far? This month is our biggest month ever.

Now go back and check those football scores. Maybe your numbers hit this week.

PS, on a more serious note, if we publish some fact that is in error just send me an email and I will check it and correct it. I do not fear issuing a correction as I believe it enhances the credibility of the site to quickly and prominently acknowledge and correct an error. In the case of Detective Buono, I prominently stated the correction in one of the most read stories we ever ran. If you look around you will see most publications bury corrections in some out of the way place. I may make the occasional error of fact but I have never knowingly published something that was not true on Talk of the Sound. Really there is no need. There is enough crap going down in New Rochelle there is no need to make it up.

      1. Also, for the record….
…and to your “new readers”. My posts on this site started long before the fantasy football issue was raised. But, Mr. Cox, at the time, did not approve of or agreed with my opinions under different usernames and blocked me, forcing me to change usernames. As such, knowing I would be blocked, I have “toned down” my comments to adhere to Mr. Cox request and follow his “rules”, to the letter, as to not get banned again. That being said, I don’t believe I was ever rude as such, but it is Mr. Cox’ site, so, I conceded, as to not be silenced.
Also, for the record, I enjoy this site, and do not want to see it disappear. If you read my past posts, you will see I am not “whining”, just sometimes, strongly disagreeing with some, not all, of the past stories published on here. In fairness, some of the stories have been downright accurate..from my vantage point.
On another note, I had high hopes for the new patch/newrochelle website…until I saw it was copying things from this site. That was disappointing. I’d like to think that Patch can devolope it’s own “personality”.

    1. “Talk of the Sound” baseball caps for the fall 2010?
      Suggested slogans…

“I support Talk of the Sound: Log on and find out why”

“On Talk of the Sound, City Hall hears ME loud and clear!”

“My voice on Talk of the Sound rocks city hall”

“I have a voice on Talk of the Sound”

The website’s URL could be on the back or sides of the cap. Using the skyblue colors in the TOTS website.

Something else to consider might be a contest for the top three cap or shirt slogans to start with.

I am grateful to Mr. Cox for giving all of us a collective voice that has shaken city hall to its core.

I look forward to wearing my TOTS cap and tee with pride.

  3. Shameless..
I am a an avid supporter of Peter Parente in the race for District 3. I don’t believe fund raising for TOTS has any place in his campaign. If anything, any proceeds from this misguided venture should be directed directly towards his campaign, not TOTS. Then again, a reputable news site would not donate to any campaign. If you are supporting Peter and not supporting Noam, an editorial should suffice.
Maybe you should invest in TOTS t-shirts for supporting TOTS.
I also see Peter recommends this on Facebook. I think he should reconsider. Peter, please distance yourself from this.
Mr. Cox, you used two words explaining yourself, “shameless” and “exploit”. Accurate description.

    1. TOTS shirts, what a great idea!
TOTS shirts, what a great idea! Maybe baseball caps could be added to the line as well?

TOTS T-shirts would appeal to a larger audience.

No plastic bands on the baseball caps as straps fit better.

    2. Don’t like it, don’t buy it.
A quick review of your past comments shows 2 things.

      1. An obsessive, recurring hostility towards me and this site.

      2. Your obessession began when we ran stories about officers in the NRPD PACT unit running an illegal gambling site stuffed full of vile pornography promoting a misogynistic attitude which you sought to excuse.

As I have said in the past, I have not the slightest in your opinion. If you don’t like the t-shirts then don’t buy them. They are my own little bit of fun and I like them.
