Autopsy Concludes Mount Vernon Firefighter James Drago Drunk and High on PCP Prior to Drowning in New Rochelle Waters

Channel 12 News is reporting that an autopsy by the Westchester County Medical Examiner has concluded that the body of James Drago, a Mount Vernon firefighter who took his boat out from the New Rochelle marina on June 26th, contained high levels of alcohol and PCP. Drago was reported missing on June 26th, 2010. His body was later found on Huly 4th near the Larchmont Shore Club.

The case took a bizarre twist when the woman who reported Drago missing was arrested in Rockland County on charges of looting the home of a friend who had recently died in a motorcycle accident. The connection between the Drago case and the Rockland case was first reported by Talk of the Sound.

A spokesperson for the Westchester Medical Examiner confirmed the Channel 12 News report. The ME was permitted to release cause of death but nothing further so there is no additional public information available from the ME at this time.
