Chamber President Cynthia Lobo, in an open letter, is encouraging local businesses to re-engage the Chamber online:
Please take time to look at this site, one we promise will stay current! Push our buttons, if you will, and see how the Chamber can help you guide and grow your business. Stay abreast of our business community’s news and events and make it your place to stand out by advertising with us directly or by using our member discounted promotional Internet tools. Or maybe you would like your customers or clients to learn more about you by posting on our Facebook page or linking in on Twitter and Flickr. Check out our calendar for a listing of meetings and programs, and sign up for any of our excellent events relating to business trends, developments and resources. Find out when we gather for our famous “Open Mic” networking nights and come meet other business people and friends. You will always know when the Chamber is hosting, sponsoring or participating in events like the Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Business Expo and the Women of Excellence dinner and our pictures will post shortly after. And our convenient online payment option (coming soon) will smooth the way for just about everything you would like to do!
Chamber critics have noted for years that the old web site had long been out of date. Eli Gordon, the new Executive Director of the Chamber is looking to change all that.
“This is just the first step”, promised Gordon. “Over the coming weeks and months, we will continue to add to the initial roll out of the web site, the Facebook page, the Twitter account and more. Next up is a partnership with e-mailing marketing leader Constant Contact which will allow the Chamber to offer significant e-mail, survey and event promotion capabilities as a significant discount to members”.
Gordon, Lobo and a host of others contributed to pulling the site together. Bob Cox of Talk of the Sound helped pull together elements of the overall social media strategy. Brad Spear contributed the stunning header image, taken from the heights of the Trump Tower, looking out across the downtown business are towards the sun. The rising morning sun serves as a metaphor for a revitalized Chamber.
“The site content will be dynamic and updated regularly which we trust will encourage business owners and residents will explore the site and visit it often,” said Lobo.

Great Move
It is important for the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce to come back strong and engage people in any possible way they can. It has been a few years since the chamber has been relevant but now with this revitalization New Rochelle has a catalyst to help spark New Ro business through promotion that should and will reach the masses.
This is a great start. Keep it going. Because no one can or will help New Ro business like the businesses themselves that make up the chamber.
