New Rochelle Resident in Trump Plaza Busted For Stealing Millions from Sloan-Kettering

Marque Gumbs, 32, is alleged to have stolen $3.8 million over the past six years by ordering toner cartridge in bulk on an Office Depot business account used by Memorial Sloan-Kettering where he was employed as an office worker.

Gumbs was arraigned Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court. he has been charged with grand larceny in excess of $1 million. Bail has been set at $100,000.

Gumbs allegedly used the proceeds of the sale of the toner cartridges to live large here in New Rochelle.

The official said Mr. Gumbs also made cash payments to buy property in the Bronx and Westchester, where he owned a one-bedroom apartment in the Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, a luxury high-rise staffed by a doorman…A neighbor at Trump Plaza, who declined to give his name, described Mr. Gumbs as “low key.” “He kept a fairly low profile, but the way he dressed was a little flashy,” the neighbor said. “You could tell he wore fancy clothes but he himself was low key as a person.”The Wall Street Journal has the details
