GRINCH STRIKES NEW ROCHELLE: Christmas Goes Dark in New Rochelle as Lights Stolen from City Christmas Tree

Written By: Robert Cox

NewRoChamber_HolidayLighting2010 - 05.jpgThe City of New Rochelle’s official Christmas Tree went dark over the weekend as thieves made off with the light bulbs that had adorned the tee. In a daring and despicable act of holiday humbug right out of Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, the tree was stripped bare.

The tree has been shining each night since the annual holiday lighting ceremony on December 3rd. The event sponsored by the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Improvement District and the City of New Rochelle Parks Department celebrated the Holiday season for all faiths. Rabbi Wohl, Father Francis and Reverend Wearver spoke of the significance of the lighting-up the darkness in this time of seasonal observances.

  1. Bulbs Went to Trump Tower?
Somebody told me Cappelli needed the bulbs to light up the empty apartments in the Trump Tower to make it appear occupied.
