City plows have been working through the night and morning and will continue operating for the next 24 to 48 hours. Major roads are now passable, but many minor roads might not be passable until tomorrow, and we ask for your patience.
We have adjusted our sanitation schedule for this week. Please listen closely, because this is a change from the information reported last night:
Tomorrow, December 28th – South End Garbage
Wednesday, December 29th – North End Garbage
Thursday, December 30th – South End Garbage & South End Paper Recyclables
Friday, December 31st – North End Garbage & North End Paper Recyclables
For emergencies or to report downed utility wires, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergency requests related to City services: during business hours, please call the City Manager’s office at 654-2140, and outside of business hours, please call the Police Desk at 654-2300. If you do not have electricity, please report your address to Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED.
Now, here’s how you can help:
First, please use common sense and avoid traveling unless necessary.
Second, if there is a fire hydrant at your home, please shovel it out.
Third, when shoveling out driveways or cars, please do not throw the snow back into the street.
Lastly, please be sure to check-in on neighbors who are senior citizens, handicapped or otherwise homebound.
when shoveling you store
when shoveling you store front make it for two people to walk by not just one, more then 12 inches. A path for one is a joke! I open up as much as i can 3-4 feet, why? I not lazy and I care!
