New York, NY – Jan. 4 – Three Lifetime Moms will help their communities by building a school library, increasing children’s self-esteem and helping other moms start their own businesses in AETN Digital’s returning sweepstakes, Clean Start Challenge, hosted on LifetimeMoms.com. The 12-week challenge, which starts today, tracks the moms’ progress through weekly videos and asks America to vote for their favorite blogger and project. The winning mom will receive $10,000 – and the runners-up $2,500 – to donate to favorite charities including NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship), First Book and Love Our Children USA.
Viewers can also enter the Clean Start Challenge 2011 Sweepstakes, which will award one winner per month $1,000 and a gift basket. A grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded to one winner at the end of the three month challenge.
“For the past three years, we’ve focused the Clean Start Challenge on individuals and their resolutions, but this year, we wanted to broaden the contest and promote doing good and making change in local communities,” said Kim Dobson, Vice President, Lifetime Moms. “Not only are the three participating women passionate about their missions, but their journeys will offer a roadmap to others, who can follow their lead and help create similar change across the country.”
Each mom will produce her own weekly video which can serve as a blueprint to at-home viewers who want to start similar projects in their own communities. In addition, each mom is paired with a coach, also a Lifetime Mom, who offers support and campaigning efforts. The participating teams and challenges are as follows:
Stephanie Elie, from Tarzana, CA will create a support system in her community to help women explore entrepreneurship or career change, in an effort to help them follow their dreams. If America chooses Stephanie to win the $10,000, she will donate her winnings to NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship). She is coached by Colleen Padilla from Phoenixville, PA.
Audrey McClelland, from Warwick, RI, is on a mission to increase literacy. She plans to involve her community in promoting learning by organizing a local book drive. If Audrey is chosen as the winner, she will donate the money to First Book. She is coached by Lindsay Maines from Germantown, MD.
Beth Feldman, from New Rochelle, NY, wants to boost kids’ self esteem and help inspire them to learn and reach their full potential. To do so, Beth will host an event in her community to raise awareness and address the issue of childhood bullying. If America chooses Beth as their favorite, she will donate her winnings to Love Our Children USA. She is coached by Shaina Olmanson from Roseville, MN.
