Congresswoman Nita Lowey (NY-18) released the following statement on today’s shooting in Arizona involving Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:
My thoughts and prayers are with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her family, staff, and constituents following today’s act of senseless violence in Arizona. I am heartsick about the fatalities and injuries resulting from this unconscionable attack. It is all the more tragic that she was targeted while working on behalf of her constituents.
Gabby Giffords is a warm and spirited woman and a dedicated and hardworking representative. I pray for her and for all the victims of today’s attack.
