End-of-the-year New Year celebration bursts with fun-filled activities for entire family.

Nearly 1,000 revelers gathered in the atrium of New Roc City to Ring in the New Year at Noon on Friday, December 31. Emceed by Jimmy Fink of 107.1 The Peak, New Roc City hosted the end-of-the-year celebration in a Times-Square simulated atmosphere complete with fun-filled family activities and an indoor balloon release at the stroke of noon. “Ring in the New Year at Noon” was held in association with CB Richard Ellis, the New Rochelle Business Improvement District and their BID Family Day event series.

“Ring in the New Year at Noon” kicked-off at 10:30 a.m. with non-stop, fun-filled family activities including arts and crafts, face painters, magicians, music, martial arts demonstrations, kiddy rides and more. Families also received special offers ranging from game cards to movie tickets to tastings from New Roc City’s restaurants and retail establishments. Participating tenants include Regal IMAX Theater, Fun Fuzion Games and Rides, Modell’s Sporting Goods, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, Authentic Café, Premier Martial Arts and Jani Chinese and Japanese Restaurant.

There was no need for kids to stay up until midnight as Jimmy Fink rang in the New Year early with the Countdown to Noon complete with a thrilling balloon release that covered all three floors with festive, brightly-colored balloons. Families were invited to spend the rest of the afternoon at New Roc’s complex to complete their fun-filled New Year’s celebration.

Conceived of and organized as a partnership by Sherry Bruck of Harquin and Stacey Cohen of Co-Communications, Ring in the New Year is the first of what promises to become an annual tradition at New Roc City. New Roc City is located at 33 Le Count Place in downtown New Rochelle. For more information, please visit www.newrochelledowntown.com or call 914-666-0066.

  1. What happened to First Night?
What happen to New Rochelle’s First Night? This was a great celebration and a positive community event. Seems awful coincidental that the year after appointing a new city clerk, who used to chair First Night, it fell by the wayside. Oh well, another crony awarded with a high paying political patronage position on the public dole.

  2. Re-open the New Roc Ice Rink
Just imagine how many people would be there on a DAILY basis if the New Roc City Ice Rink were to re-open. Nice start to the New Year, but this is where the focus should be.

    Re-open the Ice Rink!!!

    1. The Bramson Set
Would rather the space be dark and empty this way they could hold vigil for Target and Kohls.
New Roc is currently a place for people who live in the Bronx to go to the movies. Other than that its a bust.
The Rinks were run into the ground on purpose.
During the well run years it was part of a potentially thriving downtown as family’s would be there for Hockey and other events.
Hey Noam how is this all going for you?
