New Yorker Magazine’s Ken Auletta Predicts Failure of AOL Patch

Written By: Robert Cox

Ken Auletta writing in the current issue of New Yorker magazine echos themes familiar to Talk of the Sound readers. Auletta praises AOL for hiring some many journalists then tweak them for not practicing journalism calling AOL Patch a “digital Yellow Pages”. The highly-regarded media critic says AOL Patch, at its current burn rate, “probably costs too much to last” and predicts the overall AOL content strategy put forward by CEO Tim Armstrong will fail.

There is and abstract of the New Yorker Article on AOL and a podcast with Ken Auletta.
