Gov. Cuomo is touting the objective of reducing government spending and taxes, but this is one big farce! New York Times ran a story yesterday alleging that politicians are looking for ways for States to relieve themselves of debt by claiming bankruptcy. This too is another farce. Damn it the fleecing of The Taxpayers, especially here in New York State, does not stop!.
Take Westchester County for example, after the demise of the Andy Spano regime, the political patronage was accelerated within the 9th JD. The Chief Administrative Judge who replaced Judge Francis Nicolai, Alan Scheinkman ( a former County Attorney) has been creating “do nothing” positions within the 9th JD for many former County employees with political connections. The most recent to be hired is Andy Spano’s spokesperson, Susan Tolchin. All of the Democratic Party’s political operatives are all throughout the 9th JD, even Democratic Chairman and Election Board Commissioner, Reginald LaFayette’s son and mistress.
Still this is not the biggest fleecing of the taxpayers. The biggest fleecing is the bogus appointment of Judges to Acting Positions. Throughout the 9th JD, judges are given these bogus “Acting” titles which come with large increase in salaries while still performing the same duties. In Yonkers for example, all of the City Court Judges have current “Acting” titles and receive this hefty increase in salary. Two judges supposedly perform duties in connection with this so-called Acting title once each week, while others have absolutely no change in duties. The “Acting” scam does not only benefit the judge with the increased salary, it also benefits his court attorney who also receives a higher salary based on his or her judge’s Acting title.
City Court Judges make about $118,000.00, but with an Acting title this amount is increased to $136,000.00. The court attorneys assigned to City Court Judges make the least amount of money. However, when their Judges are rewarded with the “Acting” title they can see increases in excess of an additional $18,000.00. Court Attorneys that are assigned to Family Court Judges are paid higher than their counterparts assigned to City Court Judges, while court attorneys for County and Supreme Court are paid the highest amounts. Therefore, each Court Attorney assigned to Family Court Judge or City Court Judge within the system who has an Acting Supreme Court or County Court title receives excessively large salaries. These jobs are distributed to the most politically connected individuals within the system.
New York State currently has serious fiscal problems, yet this system of “Defacto Promotion” is still rampant within the 9th JD. Most of the current Family Court and City Court Judges currently have “Acting” titles while still performing the same work. Therefore, both them and their court attorneys are receiving higher salaries than what they are warranted. This is the slickest way to circumvent the system and continue the political corruption. These inflated salaries continue to ROB New Yorkers of their hard earn money. These corrupt judges are allowed to PAD their pensions and they feel justified in doing so, especially, since judges claim that they have not received a raise since 1998.)
There are other political connected judges who are given titles as Administrative Judges (aka DO NOTHING JUDGES), that are allowed to suck the blood of the taxpayers. These vampires are provided chauffeur driven cars, as well as their own personal budget to spend as they deem necessary and a host of other perks. New York State is infested with criminals who are on the bench!
There are many hard working judges who deserve to have a raise, but these crooks within the system, need to be exposed. Now, if you are really investigative reporters, you will investigate this SCAM that is being played on the tax payers of New York.
