This is Mayor Noam Bramson, and here we go again.
Yet another winter storm is hitting our region, with forecasters predicting that the heaviest snowfall will begin late this afternoon and continue until dawn.
A full complement of City plows will be operating throughout the night, prioritizing main roads, but given the timing of the storm, it is likely that many secondary roads will not be cleared by the Thursday morning rush, and we encourage you to plan accordingly.
Thursday’s North End garbage collection is cancelled. The next North End garbage pickup will be on Monday, January 31st. Friday’s South End garbage collection will occur as normal.
Let me offer our usual reminders:
For snow-related requests or complaints, please call 235-4029, that’s 235-4029.
For any emergencies, call 9-1-1.
Please remember to shovel out hydrants located at your home or business and to check-in on neighbors who may need special assistance. Finally, if you have a choice, please park your car in a driveway, garage or off-street lot, so that on-street parking will not obstruct our plows.
Thanks for listening. And you can find all this information on the City website at www.newrochelleny.com.
And why did the city wait so
And why did the city wait so long to close the schools. They did not close the school until around 5:30 AM when they had to know that they were going to close the schools anyway.
And what a GREAT job they did
And what a GREAT job they did with the storm. Did you see how many streets were plowed? If I were to guess I would say maybe 10 streets in total.
