13:24 PM Roof fire at Iona’s Loftus Hall building being evacuated.
13:26 PM North Ave closed from Eastchester Road to Mayflower fire at Loftus Hall.
13:29 PM Fire on roof of loftus hall 670 North Ave all roads around Iona closed.
13:30 PM Fire at Iona loftus hall under control.lots of smoke in area all roads around Iona remain closed.
14:20 PM – North ave reopened fire on roof at Loftus Hall has been put out.
14: 44 PM Iona officials tell Talk of the Sound a contractor working on the roof started a very small fire and out of an abundance of caution the alarm was pulled and the building evacuated. No damage and no injuries were reported.
