Talk about stupid criminals. Several suspects in a home invasion on Pinebrook Boulevard drove away from the scene, parked next to City hall and ran directly to the New Rochelle police station where four of them were apprehended by police.
According to several sources, a group of men walked into a house on Pinebrook Boulevard at about 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. They were interrupted in what police believe was an attempted burglary by the homeowner who was in her kitchen. The woman turned around and saw several male black suspects in her home. They fled. She called police and informed them of the suspects clothing, vehicle and direction of flight.
The suspects fled in their vehicle down Fifth Avenue. They parked in the Hamilton Avenue parking lot across from AJ’s Burgers and bailed out of the vehicle. The suspects ran Southdown, directly towards the New Rochelle Police station. Two suspects were apprehended in the area across from the New Rochelle Police Station, one by the flower shop on North Avenue between Horton and Winthrop and one behind the KFC. The K-9 was involved in the apprehension of the suspect behind the KFC. Two suspects were apprehended in the City Hall lot behind the police station.
One suspect may have escaped. There is speculation that the group may be involved in other recent burglaries in the area.
