Former New Rochelle School District Employee Rasool Hassan Williams Gets Life Sentence for Ohio Murder

Rasool Hassan Williams.jpgRasool Hassan Williams, 33, was found guilty of murder and weapons charges by a jury in Stuebenville, OH and sentenced to life in prison by Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr.

Williams was found guilty on March 18, 2011. He is currently incarcerated at the Lorain Correctional Institution. Williams will be eligible for parole after 20 years.

Williams worked as a a motor equipment operator for the New Rochelle school system from July 2008 until March 2010. His last day working for the district was March 23, 2010. Less than three weeks after leaving the employment of the district, April 20, 2010 he shot to death Charles King Jr., 29, of Steubenville, OH.

After the murder, Williams fled Ohio with the help of his girlfriend. He made his way to Pittsburgh, PA where he boarded a bus for New Rochelle, NY. He was arrested a month later by New Rochelle police on a murder warrant.
