With Spring in the Air, New Rochelle School System Fills Courts, Jails and Prisons from New York to Ohio

Written By: Robert Cox

NewRochelleYearbookIt’s getting so you need a scorecard this Spring to keep track of all of the criminal proceedings involving New Rochelle school district students and employees. See if you can match the mug shot with the criminal case against these former students, administrators and buildings and grounds employees. Extra points if you can name the crime! In the past month, New Rochelle managed a murder conviction, child rape, attempted armed robbery and an old chestnut for the Huguenots, the classic “no show job” conviction. Way to go, purple!

And faster than you can say “Mary Kay Laterno”, we are going to have more fun and games to come. You are going to want to sharpen those pencils as New Rochelle gets ready to play “staff having sex with students” bingo, with your host, Richard Organisciak. Coming soon to a web site near you!

  1. With spring in the air
There you go again not acting professional.

Other than Costa, how can you blame the BOE for Hassen murdering someone? Does the BOE have a crystal ball to see that Martinez was going to engage in an alleged sex act with a student? And, the two that allegedly committed robbery, you would advocate for a pentagon lock down security system for our schools? Feel terrible for the alleged victims of this. However, in your world there is never, ever anything wrong. Everything is done by the book. The book of Cox.
I guess you have a problem with former NYC Mayor Rudy Guillani for hiring Bernard Kerrick, the former NYPD police commissioner? I guess you would have a problem with the Harrison officials for hiring the staff that stole all the food and clothing for the poor? I guess you would have a problem with former county executive Andy Spano for hiring the individual who ordered items on the county budget for his personal use? I would love to see your crystal ball. It must be able to see way into the future. I suggest that you act as the professional reporter you make yourself out to be and look at things realistically and report fairly.

    1. Focus, dude!
Bernard Kerik? Andy Spano? Food pantries?

Good grief. Unable or unwilling to focus on the topic, the criminality in the New Rochelle system, you want to drag out every case of public corruption in the United States? And to make what point? That no one is ever responsible for allowing criminals into the school system? I beg to differ. Residents have a right to expect that there children will not be encountering criminals and criminal activity while attending school in New Rochelle. I do not believe that is an unreasonable expectation.

Rather than windmill about like a drunken loon; how about you try addressing some FACTS.

      1. The two students arrested for attempted armed robbery had been caught just a day or two before stealing from the cafeteria register. In what other school system can you commit a robbery, captured on video tape, and be back in the school the next day? Had they been arrested for that crime or at least suspended from school the alleged attempted robbery could not have happened.

      2. Jose Martinez started working for the district in September 2007 without having first cleared an SED background check. He is now in county jail with a $500,000 bail requirement on charges of sexually molesting a student over a period of MONTHS within his school office.

      3. Vito Costa was followed for a month by DA investigators, driving all over Westchester, doing work as a private contractor, using school district equipment and supplies. Yet no supervisor was even charged let alone tried for approving invoices and time cards for Costa for the month he was followed by the DA detectives. Costa has been working this “no show” job for YEARS before he was caught.

      4. Rassool Hassan Williams had drug convictions on his record, according to testimony in his murder trial in Ohio. The district hired him in 2008. He worked for the district until March 2010. Either he had a criminal record when he was hired or he got one while a district employee. Either way, a convicted criminal was able to work for the New Rochelle school district. He is hardly alone.

      1. Focus dude!
Here you go again, you are not acting like the professional who claim to be. Now you are resorting to name calling? Ok I can handle that. It seems it is the only way you know how to act. I guess you think it gives you the tough guy persona.

The point of my writing is that nothing is 100%. You seem to relish in the arena of slandering and hiding in your blog. The blog that you use to character assassinate people and to slander institutions. And, when you do show yourself publically you have your tantrums that was obvious when the BOE didn’t show you the respect you think you are due. Just look at yourself on the video. A grown man acting the way you do. No wonder you are not taken seriously. You paint a picture of the BOE as being the most corrupt institution in New York State. Maybe you should call the attorney general? See what that office thinks of your rants. In the meantime, act professional. That is if you can.

      2. “name calling?”
        Ken he never

        “name calling?”

Ken he never called you a “drunken loon” he just said you act like one.

      3. What claim do you think I am making?
You keep repeating yourself but I still don’t understand what you mean. I am not sure if most readers understand you either. Maybe you can clarify what you mean when you keep whining about whether or not you believe I am a “professional” or “profesional reporter”.

Maybe I am wrong but trying to interpolate between your meaningless morass of words it seems like you are saying that I should not expect to be given respect by anyone because I do not conduct myself as you believe a professional reporter should. If this is wrong then please correct me.

If it is about right then let me explain something to you. I have absolutely no interest in defining what I do with Talk of the Sound or any other platform at my disposal. I do what I do and I do not have some label attached to the top of my web site that proclaims anything in particular about what that is. As is clear from a reading of the site I am sometimes working as the editor, the publisher, a writer, reporter and pundit. Sometimes I am videographer, photographer, graphic designer, web designer, technical support, customer support or marketing or advertising sales person.

If you like it fine. If you don’t then go read some other web site or start your own or whatever you want.

As for hiding, the facts are against you there. My name is there for all to see, I write articles under my own name, my photo is on every comment. I put photos and videos of me on the site and I can easily be found at public meetings of all sorts. My phone number and email are on the site.

Short of having you sit in my lap while I watch a City Council meeting on TV (which I am doing now) I am not sure how much more accessible you want me to be. In either case, I am certainly not hiding.

As for “slander” let me explain something you may not know but truth is an absolute defense against an allegation of slander. The New Rochelle school district and the City of New Rochelle are both corrupt. The DA will be coming soon enough to make arrests and they will hardly be the last. I am not the one who arrested Jose Martinez, that was the NRPD. I am not the one investigating the DPW, that is the Westchester District Attorney. I am not the one who indicted Jermanine McCleod or Rashad Simpon, that was a Grand Jury in White Plains. I am not the one who convicted Rassool Hassan Williams, that was a jury in Ohio. I am not the one who sentenced Vito Costa that Judge Colangelo.

BTW, if I am not taken seriously then what are you so worried about? Try to Chillax and have fun.

    2. Hey Ken, The 2 that did try
Hey Ken, The 2 that did try to rob that 14 year old boy in the high school, they were caught in 2 other incidents beforehand, I have the paperwork and the proof!!Tell me that if it was your son or daughter, you wouldn’t be outraged, let alone the fact that they try to cover things up??
I guess that you would drink the kool aid too???
Do you think that there is something wrong with the way the board of ed handles things??? If you don’t, you dont know all the facts.
How does the supervisor of the hvac tech who never showed up to work explain that he knew nothing about costa not being there!! Are you kidding, thats why there are supervisors to check on their employees!!
The boe doesnt need to see into the futire…. they just need to see whats going on in front of them….and dont run for cover….TAKE ACTION!!
