A ceremony was held today at Joe Fosina Field at City Park and attended by Westchester County and New Rochelle officials to celebrate the county’s $10 million in funding to New Rochelle to create one of the finest athletic facilities in Westchester at City Park.
I worked diligently with my colleagues on the Westchester Board of Legislators to get this funding approved last year, and this is one of the most important victories for my hometown in my 14 years as a county legislator.
New Rochelle’s kids are second to none and deserve to play sports on excellent fields. I played on these fields as a kid and now coach on them as a dad, and it has been clear to me for years that the fields at City Park badly needed an upgrade.
If you drive by you will see the work being done, and when all the field upgrades are completed, there is only one thing left to say: “Play Ball!”
