Opinion editor/Rockland, The JournalNews/LoHud.com:

“The letter placement puzzle is a challenge at times, especially when letters come in around school budget vote/election time. This year’s climate made the letter flow particularly robust. However, your letter needed to be placed in a more efficient way. There is no arguing that. We will endeavor to make that happen”.

Nancy Cutler was the eight staff member from The Journal News, Rockland, to follow up with me on these issues. Saturday June 4, 2011 they printed the editorial, be it several weeks old. I expected a little wiggle room because of the news cycle on the votes. I waited a period of time and began seeing much more current editorials being printed. So I once again had to push their buttons to get it done. They had already called me to confirm the information. When reading The Journal News, it seems that Southern Westchester (New Rochelle) lacks regular coverage. I have been told, “You are on our radar”. I want to emphasize that I am not one of those people that feels the need to see his name in print. We would appreciate some fair and just coverage of the many events and happenings in New Rochelle.
The Iona College Dorm proposal is a big deal. This will not go away. Some say it is on the back burner until after the November Elections. Some say the proposal will be rubber stamped like all of the previous requests by Iona College with the standard vote of 4 to 3 after that. The process involves more than just a small neighborhood upset about a building going up in their backyards. It involves Iona College, Possibly The Christian Brothers, New Rochelle City Council, New Rochelle Planning Board, DEIS reviews, Westchester County, The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and of course the many neighborhoods that are affected. I will begin to review some of the information from the past year about The Iona College Dorm Proposal. I have been asked by many people for more information. With all of the goings on at Iona College this past year and from all the previous dorm transactions/battles from 1983,1987,1989,1995,1996,1999,2003 and of course now 2010 and counting. There is no lack of information. This also just covers the votes and deals we are aware of for now.
