As usual, a ton of stuff going on in New Rochelle –
Tonight and tomorrow at Iona College, an interesting discussion is already underway. Changing the Face of Globalization is the sixth annual summer symposium hosted by Iona and should prove intriguing.
Also, running all this weekend is Die Fledermaus. The Ursuline School proudly presents Johann Strauss’ classic opera tonight and tomorrow at 8 pm, and Sunday at 3 live from the Frank J. Auriana Theater.
Newcomers to Talk of the Sound, the New Rochelle Dirtbags lace up their spikes to take on the Rye Patriots at Rumbrook Park – Good luck to them during their season in the Westchester/Rockland Wood bat League.
Then on Saturday:
It’s another BID Family Day, live from the New Rochelle Public Library. Children’s performer, Louie! will host this annual summer reading kick-off party for pre-K and elementary school kids.
Later in the evening:
At 5 pm, the KJ Denhert Trio will bring their jazz chops to the stage of Wildcliff Manor with Incoming Tide Entertainment presenting another round of the Spare Change Comedy Tour immediately to follow.
And on Sunday –
A general membership meeting of the New Rochelle NAACP is scheduled for 4 pm at the MLK Jr. Center
And lastly
Head over to the Empty Hand Zen Center for their annual benefit concert – Vocalist Sufi and composer Amir Vahab will be contributing their musical stylings to the show.
