UPDATE: The City of New Rochelle has made it official:
Centre Avenue Bridge Closed for Repairs
Due to necessary work by the New York State Thruway Authority, the Centre Avenue Bridge has been closed. Motorists seeking access to Centre Avenue and Grove Avenue should use Webster Avenue or the Memorial and Division Street Bridges.
It is estimated that repairs will take one month. For further information, contact Project Manager Peter McDermott at 403-4872.
The intention had been to keep one lane open. There was a traffic collision on the bridge soon after traffic was cut down to one lane. To prevent further collisions a decision was made to shut down all traffic. This may allow the fork to be completed sooner than one month, as originally project.
