New Rochelle police responded in force to reports of a push-in robbery and shots fired at a fifth-floor apartment at 207 Drake Avenue.

After securing the scene, detectives from the General Investigations Unit, led by Lt. Christopher Hearle arrived to conduct an examination of the apartment.

Preliminary reports are often wrong but word is this was a drug deal gone wrong. One detective pushed open and let slam a stairwell door suggesting the “gunshot” may have been a door slamming and echoing in the cinderblock stairwell.
