If you felt shaking around 1:52pm this afternoon you were not alone. New Rochelle felt the rumblings of a 6.0 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter 38 miles north of Richmond, VA. The earthquake, reported most recently as a 5.8 by the U.S. Geological Survey, occurred Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 01:51 PM.

I was sitting in my living room and my cat started to go nuts, running around; then the room started shaking for about a minute.

Tell us your story with comment or blog. Where were you and what were you doing when the earthquake struck?
