Your Councilperson, that’s who. City Council is like the US Senate: each district gets one vote. The Mayor is the tie-breaker, just as the Vice President of the US is the tie-breaker in the Senate.
It is curious, then, that during the final days of this election season there have been endorsements from people in one District for a candidate in a different District.
That is like a friend in California telling me to vote for Senator Schumer. At some point I would ask, “What’s in it for her? Why is she getting involved?”
I will choose my own Senator and my own Councilperson. If you live in my District, come tell me what you think. Otherwise, please respect our right to protect our own interests.
