That's right our state senator is calling it quits at the end of her term. Here's a link to the story, http://blog.timesunion.com/capitol/archives/106003/suzi-oppenheimer-wont-return-to-senate-in-2013/
Let's all galvanize our support around Bob Cohen this time. He only lost by a few votes in 2010 and I'm sure he's got the stuff to go all the way. Check out his website when you get a chance. www.BobCohen2012.com
Why should all of you be concerned that the Republicans maintain control the NYS Senate? Because without them, there's no balance of power and more importantly there would be no stopping of any tax increase that the NYC Democrats want to pay for their extreme liberal policies that are bankrupting the state. It was also the Republicans in the NYS Senate that rejected Noam's request to increase New Rochelle utility tax that would've driven your ConEd bill (& others) up 2% with a snap of the fingers.
I wonder which of the Democrats will run for her seat. NRInfo, I hope its Idoni. I think he'd be easy to defeat with his past tax & spend policies that set in motion New Rochelle's downward spiral.
