Talk of the Sound Will Be Reporting LIVE from Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis

Written By: Robert Cox

SuperBowl42 060Managing Editor Robert Cox will be heading to Indianapolis tomorrow to cover Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and New England Patriots for Talk of the Sound. Cox will be reporting every step of the way from the flight in to the celebration after the Giants win.

For Cox, this will be his fifth Super Bowl and his fourth Giants Super Bowl.

He attended his first NFL Championship Game in 1987 where the Giants defeated the Denver Broncos 39-20 at Super Bowl XXI at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. After missing the Giants 20-19 victory over the Buffalo Bills at Super Bowl XXV in 1991, Cox attended two more Giant Super Bowls: Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida which the Giants lost 34-7 to the Baltimore Ravens and Super Bowl XLII in 2008 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

He also attended Super Bowl XXXII in 1998 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California where the Denver Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers 31-24. John Elway led the Broncos to their first Super Bowl victory after three previous Super Bowl losses under Elway.

Super Bowl XLII is considered the greatest upset in sports history. Despite a Closing NFL Point Spread of -12.5, the Giants defeated the undefeated and heavily favored New England Patriots 17-14 on a fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress. The Giants became the first NFC wild card team to win a Super Bowl.

    Hello?…

Hello?…..Is there anyone in here?….It’s *&@%ing Wednesday already, dude.

    The game is over.
    Duh?

Time to move on already?, or is this the TOTS permanent front page photo.

    Sheesh.

    1. Tech issues
The problem was that for some reason my iPhone battery just kept draining to zero and so it was impossible to post as I had intended. I was able to charge at “home” but I was mostly traveling or walking around Indy or at events so my phone was dead or nearly for most of the weekend.

No idea why this was such a problem but I am going to get me a special spare battery thing that will give me a reserve for next time.

In any case, I did take photos and tweet. I have put that altogether here:

I also did an 8 minute radio segment after the game from Red Eye Radio which is WABC 770 AM. There is an audio clip here:
