A general election is to be held in Mexico on July 1, 2012 to elect a new President of the Republic of Mexico. The incumbent, President Felipe Calderón, is ineligible for re-election. At the federal level, voters will also elect 128 members to the Senate and 500 members to serve for a three-year term in the Chamber of Deputies.
In order to participate in this upcoming election, Mexican national living abroad will need to have a voter registration card. The deadline to request forms was January 15th.
Mexican nationals living in New Rochelle (or anywhere else outside of Mexico) have until March 31st to provide the correct data to the government so they can be sent a ballot between April 16th and May 20th. Mexican voters abroad have until June 30th to turn in their ballots. Those votes will be included in the voting totals for the July 1st Presidential Election.
