Both Monroe Mustangs basketball teams will begin play in their respective national tournaments today.
The #3-ranked men will tip off in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS at 12:00pm (1:00pm, NY time) against an excellent #7-ranked Indian Hills (Iowa) team.
The #9-seeded women will defend their NJCAA Division II national championship in Peoria, IL against #8 Prairie State (Illinois) at 3:00pm (4:00pm, NY time).

One side note about the men’s team: Monroe’s Hutchinson, KS fans are back! The group of children (and their parents) from Hutchinson who had come out for Monroe in the past were so excited that the Monroe Mustangs made the national tournament again, that on Monday they visited them in their hotel. Each child made a shirt with their favorite Mustang player’s number on it and also made a poster of inspiration for the players to have in their rooms as they prepare to take to the court Tuesday. One parent said they expect to have a large rooting contingent for the Mustangs in the arena again this year.
