The first ever Key Food Superstore has opened at 366 Pelham Road, New Rochelle, NY. The store replaces the old A&P.
The 33,000 sq ft store combines a Key Food Supermarket with an Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace influence, for a full service supermarket with an Italian flair. Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is a Long Island-based chain of family owned gourmet Italian supermarkets, with an emphasis on selling the highest quality, freshly made prepared food.
The store has created more than 125 permanent local jobs, and its Superstore name comes from offering the New Rochelle community more than just a supermarket, but a shopping experience. The store features a meat department with a selection of steaks, poultry, specialty stuffed and custom-cut roasts; a deli department with dozens of dinners, sauces, and prepared food made using old-fashioned Italian recipes; a produce department with a large variety of fruits and vegetables including organic; a traditional Italian bakery where customers can see donuts being made and choose from freshly baked bread and desserts; and a seafood department with an assortment of freshly caught fish and prepared dinners made by our seafood chefs. This, combined with a full service supermarket with competitive prices and an extensive selection of products, makes for the ultimate shopping experience.
“We’re really excited to open our Key Food Superstore in New Rochelle, and also to introduce all our Uncle Giuseppe’s homemade food to Westchester,” said Philip Del Prete, President and CEO of Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace.
Key Food is a 120-store chain of supermarkets in and around New York, established in 1937. Uncle Giuseppe’s has five locations on Long Island and was founded in 1998 by brothers Philip, Carl and Joseph Del Prete and operating partner Thomas Barresi.
At the grand opening ceremony, there was live singing, clowns and face painting for the kids.
