A young man somehow ended up on the wrong side of the road heading north on North Avenue near Burling Lane. He drove head on into a a BMW SUV heading south on North Avenue. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. No one was seriously injured.
New Rochelle police were first on the scene. New Rochelle fire fighters arrived soon after and spread absorbent material on the road service where fluids had poured onto the street and created a small stream leading towards the side of the road.
Southbound traffic on North Avenue was being diverted to Lockwood Avenue. Northbound traffic was being allowed through.
