On Thursday, May 10, at 7:00 pm, the New Rochelle Public Library will present the 1979 film, The Longest Yard. Featured in the library’s series highlighting various genres, The Longest Yard is a “bone-crunching” comedy that stars Burt Reynolds, Eddie Albert, and Michael Conrad. In it, the disgraced former NFL star Paul “Wrecking” Crewe (Reynolds) is sentenced to prison, where he’s forced to lead his fellow inmates against the guards in the dirtiest game of football every played. The color film runs 121 minutes and is rated R (Not recommended for viewers under 17).
