Happy Memorial Day New Rochelle

/ Memorial Day. No doubt the beginning of carefree summer days, swimming pools and barbecues. As our collective picnic weekend takes shape, remember the price paid that affords us the ability to share these summer days of family and friends gathering. Our freedom, as a Nation or as an individual has neither been a gift nor an endowment. Nor should we take for granted the endurance of this fundamental cornerstone of America without the sacrifice needed to support it. To quote Thomas Paine “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.” We remember those lost, and thank the many who have served as we support the men and women serving still. We owe no less as we celebrate as a Nation on this Holiday weekend.

So, fire up the grill and ice down the beer. Shake the hand of a vet and say “thank you for your service”. Enjoy and celebrate the gift of Freedom with all it has to offer, just don’t forget how we got here.
