New Rochelle Turns Out in Grand Style for Memorial Day 2012

Written By: Robert Cox

Thousands of people lined the street of New Rochelle Monday for the City’s annual Memorial Day parade. Soldiers, sailors and Marines from the U.S.S. Wasp, in New York for Fleet Week, took center stage as honored guests. The parade began after a ceremony at Memorial Plaza in downtown New Rochelle, wound its way through the city center, ending in Hudson Park where the crowd joined the troops for a cookout with live entertainment.

  1. Memorial Day Parade
I told Peter this already via another social media link but i wanted to go on Record saying this past Memorial Day Parade was the BEST parade I have seen in New Rochelle. It was a honor to honor those who participated, from the Vets to those sailing aboard the USS Wasp, but the true meaning of Memorial Day nonwithstanding, I just enjoyed the day.

Sometimes thing in New Ro can be overhyped but this was a truly great event. GREAT JOB!
