Detective Glen Spinner was appointed to the Department in January 1999, and is currently assigned to the Special Investigations Unit. He is the recipient of the Police Commissioner’s Award, one Class C Citation, four Commendation Awards, the MetroCare Ambulance Life Saving Award and a Unit Citation.
During 2011 Detective Spinner was one of the lead investigators in “Operation City Sweeper,” which culminated in November 2011 with arrests of sixty drug dealers on a variety of charges for drug trafficking activity in the city of New Rochelle. One of the Unit’s most seasoned and experienced investigators, Detective Spinner was responsible for directing and controlling undercover work that was crucial to the operation’s success For his outstanding work in “Operation City Sweeper” as well as his consistently impressive overall performance, Detective Glen Spinner was designated Officer of the Month for October 2011.
Each year, as part of National Police Week each May, the City of New Rochelle acknowledges outstanding police officers and units. The 2012 New Rochelle Police Department Awards Ceremony was held at the Greentree County Club on May 16th.
