New Rochelle Police Will Review Car Chase That Resulted in Death of Suspect

HondaTheftCrashBronxWill David of the Journal News has a good follow up piece on the car chase that resulted in the death of one of the suspects in the theft of tires and other automative parts from New Rochelle Honda on East Main Street.

David has learned that the Capt. Anthony Gazzola will oversee a review of officers actions during the car chase. New Rochelle Police Commissioner Patrick Carroll called it a critique rather than an investigation.

The chase ended when the car driven by the suspects crashed.

Francisco Santana-Pena, 24, of 1201 Ogden Avenue, the Bronx died. Santana-Pena was a passenger in the vehicle.

The driver Starling Santana, 20, of 756 Melrose Avenue, the Bronx was charged with vehicular manslaughter by New York City police. Santana was last reported to be in critical condition.
