Police Officer Sean Kane Named Police Officer of the Year by New Rochelle Police Department

SeanKanePolice Officer Sean Kane was appointed to the Department in August 2007, and is currently assigned to the Police Services Division’s Third Tour. He is the recipient of the Police Commissioners’ Award, four Class C Citations, one Commendation Award and the Municipal Housing Award. During his tenure with the Department, Officer Kane has developed a keen ability to detect criminal activity. He was temporarily reassigned to the Special Investigations Unit in 2011 and made an immediate impact. His street contacts and knowledge of the illegal drug community contributed to the success of Operation City Sweeper. His personal contributions led to sealed indictments in four cases. In 2011, he made 72 arrests, issued 37 city code summonses and filed 110 field interview reports. In acknowledgement of his noted achievements and performance, Police Officer Sean Kane is designated the Police Officer of the Year for 2011.

Each year, as part of National Police Week each May, the City of New Rochelle acknowledges outstanding police officers and units. The 2012 New Rochelle Police Department Awards Ceremony was held at the Greentree County Club on May 16th.
