Iona Prep recently hosted its annual Edmund Rice Camp Camp, which is an opportunity for young boys to experience the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice.
During the last week in June, Iona Prep hosted its annual Edmund Rice Camp. The Edmund Rice Camp is an opportunity for young boys to experience the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice. The children who attended the camp took part in many activities such as sports, science and arts & crafts. Discussions and prayer took part at the beginning and end of each day. The Edmund Rice Camp provides a terrific summer experience for boys who were recommended by their pastors. There is no charge to the children who attend the camp, or to their families.
Over a dozen current students and graduates from Iona Prep volunteered their services to run the week-long camp. During the year, the Iona Prep community engaged in various fundraising activities in order to support their work with the camp and keep the service free for the children.
Iona Prep’s Edmund Rice Camp is supervised and coordinated by faculty member Br. R.W. Harris ’62.
