NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Public Library’s family film series, Disney Hit Parade, continues on Monday, July 30th at 6:00 pm, with the 1975 film, The Apple Dumpling Gang. The comedy stars Bill Bixby, Susan Clark, Don Knotts, and Tim Conway.

The story of the film involves three young orphans who stumble upon a huge golden nugget. They join forces with two bumbling outlaws (Knotts and Conway) to stage a robbery of the gold to fend off the greedy townspeople. Little do they know that a surly gang of sharpshooters plans to beat them to the draw!

The color film runs 100 minutes, and is shown on the big screen of the air-conditioned Ossie Davis Theater. There is no charge.

The library’s Disney Hit Parade series concludes on August 6th with a viewing of Escape to Witch Mountain.

Here’s a fact based film about New Rochelle. It’s got it all, Religion, Corruption, Vigilante’s (no cursing or sex, sorry, it is a Disney film). Just goes to show, for some things it’s the same as it ever was. Check it out
