Obituary: John (Jack) Williams (1935 – 2012) Former President of New Rochelle Fire Department U.F.F.A.

Jack Williams retired president emeritus of the New Rochelle Fire Department U.F.F.A. passed away peacefully on July 26,2012. He was 77. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, son Jack, daughter in law Debi,his two loving grandchildren Jackie and Deanna and his brother Jim.A lso many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years Ellie.

Jack was president of the U.F.F.A. 12 of his 21 years with the Fire Department. During that time he received many community, civic and labor achievement awards. He received three departmental citations, one of them,the highest award given to a Firefighter, the Thomas Carrigan Award for rescuing a child from a fire in 1970. Jack was the co-chairman of the 5th district Fire Fighters Burn Center Committee and the first Fire Fighter ever appointed to the Westchester County Labor Advisory Board.

In his younger years he was an avid bowler and baseball player ,he was on U.F.F.A. championship teams in the 60s and 70s. He was Loved by All who knew Him!
