WestchesterCountyAssocationLogoWHITE PLAINS, NY — Business leaders from across the region will be in New Rochelle on September 20 as the city, along with the Westchester County Association, welcomes developers, architects, entrepreneurs and commercial real estate brokers to learn why New Rochelle is an excellent place to do business and create the neighborhoods of the future.

BLUEPRINT City Showcase: New Rochelle

A collaborative marketing effort, spearheaded by the Westchester County Association’s Blueprint for Westchester initiative, will give professionals involved in location decisions a firsthand look at New Rochelle’s many pro-business assets including its unparalleled location, diverse and talented workforce, fine quality of life, and proactive city government.

City Showcase: New Rochelle will begin at 8 am on September 20 with a breakfast reception at 145 Huguenot Street. Attendees will then take part in a city bus tour, followed by a sky-high luncheon and keynote address from Mayor Noam Bramson at “Top of the Roc,” Avalon on the Sound East, 40 Memorial Highway in New Rochelle.

“We are deeply committed to preserving and strengthening the economic vitality of New Rochelle,” Mayor Bramson said. “Through the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District, EnvisioNR, the city’s Comprehensive Plan update, and public-private partnerships such as this one with the WCA’s Blueprint for Westchester, we are attracting new investment to the City and forging alliances that will stimulate job creation and economic growth for years to come.”

Modeled after the highly successful City Showcase: White Plains, held last April, the New Rochelle event is part of a major collaborative effort with the county’s real estate, business, and academic sectors, and strong participation from Westchester’s six cities and County government. It was organized by The Blueprint for Westchester, the Westchester County Association’s aggressive campaign to revitalize Westchester’s economy. Over 100 site selectors, developers, brokers, attorneys, and planning professionals are expected to attend.

“With rents in New York City’s Silicon Alley up 19% this year, this is an excellent time to remind people what Westchester and New Rochelle are all about,” said Marissa Brett, executive director of economic development, Westchester County Association. “Our City showcases echo a main Blueprint theme: Westchester is convenient, has good transportation and infrastructure, offers an unparalleled lifestyle, is affordable, and importantly, is welcoming to business – all kinds of business.”

“Our county is positioned to become a top destination for technology companies, as well as other business organizations that can benefit from a highly educated workforce, multi-billion dollar healthcare system, and internationally renowned cultural and recreational offerings”, said William M. Mooney, Jr., president, Westchester County Association.

The City Showcase: New Rochelle is by invitation only, although it is open to the public. Pre-registration is required. To reserve a space on the tour, please contact the Westchester County Association at events@westchester.org.
