F.U.S.E., the union representing New Rochelle teachers and other board of education employees, has distributed the 2011-2014 contract to members. There was a delay in printing the contract which went into effect in September 2011.

When the agreement was reached in April 2011 issued a statement to members:
“I think the agreement we reached is fair and is in line with other agreements reached by school employees’ unions throughout the region. The agreement will help preserve positions and programs that benefit our students and reflects the spirit of cooperation of collaboration that between the district and the union.”
The district is responsible for the printing of the books and it was not clear to F.U.S.E. leadership as to the reason for the delay.
“We were hoping to have the book to members by the second semester of the school year following ratification, as we usually been able to do in the past,” said Daly.
The district prints thousands of copies of the contract which runs to over 100 pages.
Daly sees an opportunity to be more “green”, save the district money and better serve F.U.S.E. members with electronic copies.
“I hope that all future editions of the contract well be electronically distributed to members,” said Daly. “We can be “green” while at the same time getting the agreement to our colleagues in the shortest amount of time.
The proposed agreement would supersede the current extension of the 2005-2008 contract which was modified through an addendum in 2009.
