What affects me
I worry about things that affect me. Living in the downtown area it is tough to park, I understood that when I moved here. But meters and tickets are meant to generate revenue for the City and in theory keep taxes low. I never commented on the food at either restaurant, but if we let every employee, owner, customer, delivery guy & UPS truck to park there all day when traffic is at its highest volume, why not let the residents park in the same spots overnight? Fair is fair. What about businesses that are not shown this courtesy, what about those small businesses? Just a bit of advice, really think about your comments before you hit send.
Me? I comPLETEly agree with you, BRosa…
in fact, given the 25 cents for 15 minute ripoff that Idoni II is pocketing most of meter price, I will park blocks and blocks and blocks away on a residential street and walk to the pathetic sewer that is downtown New Rochelle, should I find myself there at the few establishments that aren’t filthy vegetable or dollar stores. Since putting into place this highway robbery price, I have never, ever paid it, I am proud to say.
>>But meters and tickets are meant to generate revenue for the City and in theory keep taxes low.
First part true, second part never gonna happen. Sorry. You would do best to move out.
Planet Wings?
Big Deal!!!!
Grand Opening
We have been customers of the Planet Wings for about a year now and absolutely love their wings! I am not sure why they waited so long but who cares. I have better things to do than worry about other people trying to make a living. If you are such a New Rochelle hater then you should move out. There are plenty of people in this community that do care and bottom line the better businesses do here the better the city does. Good Luck Planet Wings, wish you guys all the best.
Me or BRosa? Whom are you addressing?
Idoni II can’t tell time because he was busy counting his money, I understand that. But don’t say it’s a ‘grand’ opening, it’s just a ‘delayed’ opening.
I like their products too, they are very tasty for fast food.
But New Rochelle ‘hater’? Au contraire, hugey. I am a New Rochelle ‘lover’, have been since 1950. Can you make that claim? Well, can you? Since I can, I have all the right in the world to hate what Idoni I and Idoni II have done to the Queen City of the Sound.
I have moved out, for various and personal reasons. I have no connection whatsoever to my current city, my heart belongs to New Rochelle, hence my hate for the crooks in City Hall.
Plenty of people? Are they deaf and dumb? I haven’t seen a single thing happen in downtown that would substantiate your statement. Downtown New Rochelle is still a sewer.
The better businesses do the better the city does? Are you for real? You mean, of course, the better the businesses that City Hall has been paid off to bring in do, the better City Hall does since they will benefit from all the behind the scenes goings on that benefit them and not the citizens of New Rochelle. That’s what you meant to say, right? Right.
Rock on, hugey.
city hall
What about the small business owner trying to make a living. Then maybe you should run for office and straighten everything out.I wouldn’t even address the brosa person. Probably has way to much time on his hands and is out of work.
The small business owner trying to make a living…
is doing fine in New Rochelle. I shudder to think what portion of their income has to be paid in bribes to City Hall, but if you look around, you’ll notice New Rochelle is comprised of ONLY small business owners. No quality retail wants any part of the sewer that is downtown New Rochelle.
Hah – if you’ve read my posts, you know I tell the truth, and therefore, I can’t run for office. If I did, and I won, you can bet I would straighten everyone out. I was banking on Warren and he left.
Again, I am behind Planet Wings. I can’t speak to the parking problem, since I don’t know the facts. Robert would have to verify that story.
If you’ve read Bob and Warren’s posts, you know that City Hall is all about the bribes they’re getting from the developers for the Armory and the waterfront. They could care less about the small business owners. They’re only plugging in the empty store fronts on the ghost town that is Main Street New Rochelle with small stores because no self-respecting retail store wants to be part of the sewer that is New Rochelle. Thank you for responding.
What USED to be…
I’m with you NewRochelleUSED!
Are u kidding me
These guys could care less about the community, they park anywhere from 6-9cars illegally every day for 12 hours and put drivers and pedestrians on North Ave at risk, while residents get ticketed 1 minute after 8am on alternate side parking. I wonder how parking will be today? I have invited our illustrious mayor to examine the unsafe parking situations on many occasions with no response. This is a business the City government wants to support, no wonder our City is going down the tubes. What a joke…
Grand Opening? What’s the joke?
Planet Wings has been in that shopping center since at least July of 2012.
What’s Idoni II been doing since July, counting his money? Doesn’t he even know the businesses that set up shop in his sewer of a town?
Sorry, BRosa, New Rochelle isn’t going down the tubes, it has already been flushed.
The joke is…
Articles like this one prove one thing…
There are people who have NOTHING else to write about!
Go to the Local Library and begin reading about the History of Our Country…yes that’s right…OUR COUNTRY!!!!
Thomas Jefferson ate at a Planet Wings?
And your point is?
Thomas Jefferson would be insulted!
Very funny NewRochelleUSED…
The point is…The article and the nonsense people write about.
The point is…Do people actually go to Libraries anymore and read anymore? As an ‘ole timer…I remember when the Old NR Library was filled to the brim with young and old alike…This was how people occupied their time…
No, as per your title, Thomas Jefferson didn’t eat at Planet Wings…I think it was silly to even mention that!
I fully understood both your point and inference, OldTime…
and no one decries the stupidity of the current population more than I. But if you thought my post funny, why did you not appreciate the connection of TJ to PW?
By the way, I used to work at the library, the real, stiflingly hot in Summer New Rochelle library on Pintard, not the pathetic reincarnation on Locust. I too remember when people read and didn’t live their lives around their smartphones.
The sad part is, in order to keep their funding, the libraries in Westchester are kowtowing to the great uneducated and focusing more on bandwidth than brains.
Incidentally, I think the original post was nothing more than a commercial for Planet Wings.
Perhaps…
Perhaps it’s because I’m old fashioned…At any rate we are on the same page!
